Preserving the Past – 12 July, 1944

This is the first of two Wednesdays. Tomorrow is Wednesday also due to crossing the date line. Compared to being off Guam we are pretty close to home but to think that we are just crossing the one hundred eightieth meridian makes it seem a long way from it. We get in to Pearl Saturday morning and that is still three days off. I went through the regular routine today plus a little work on the war diary. I have written no letters to Dolly yet but I will have at least a couple to send off when I get to Pearl. I wish I knew where that sweet girl is right now.

Second Wednesday
Nothing of note. Good movie tonight and I wrote a letter to Dolly which I will mail when I find out where she is.

Feel free to add comments or to suggest corrections on errors that I made transcribing.
